Harold & EOTC week

We meet Harold and Corine from Life Education.
All  of us have a different personality making us unique.
Education outside the classroom during the week was interesting and fun. We finished with a time on wheels.
Sadly Mr Groen left us this week, but he promises to be back.

Will the Egg survive? Introduction to Design

As part of our introduction to our inquiry into design
we had to "design"  a survival "kit" for an egg, which was going to be dropped from a height.
In groups we had to buy materials with our $20. The more                 protective/cushioning the material was, the more it cost.

We talked together about how to keep "our " egg 'safe'.

Here is Ryan and Skye with their finished egg survival "kit".

Accidents do happen!
Can you see the egg in its protective materials?

Here we drop the egg. Will it survive? Did our design we made together, with the materials we brought, help our egg to stay whole?
This is the target site. The triangular box tied with blue string in the foreground was the winning "survival kit" because the girls who "designed" it packed it well with protective material.

5 sentence challenge. Our pick.

Bright, orange leaves breathe in cold foggy air in the natural woods. The sky reflects blue air. There’s  lots of beautiful green bushes growing up tall. No glowing flowers are planted on the extremely muddy pathway.  On the thin leaves there are big and tiny raindrops dripping from leaf to leaf.

Cross Country Training is hotting up!

This is us practising our cross country running on the actual track we will run.
Some people ran extra hard to impress the photographer!

Our collage of the concept we are studying is finished and up

Working in groups we took a letter from the word "creativity" the concept we are studying this term, and using different material fabrics, paint, dye, vivid pens, wax crayons, glitter we created a collage.
Come see it. We plan to display different creative images around it.
