On Wednesday, Room 5 had a special guest come and visit them for Inquiry. Our special guest was Sir Isaac Newton, who travelled in time to teach us his Three Laws of Motion.
In this photo, Isaac Newton and Lily are demonstrating the Third Law. The Third Law is 'Objects always push back with equal force'.
In this photo, Isaac with some of Room 5's students are rolling the balls into the goal. This shows the
Second Law, which is 'When a force is applied to an object it moves'. Abby and Nikhil's hands were the force that moved the balls.
Izzy and Eden S are flicking the counters to get closest to the target. They are showing the First Law ' If left alone a moving object carries on moving in a straight line until another force makes it change direction or stop'.
Sir Isaac Newton taught us a lot about his Three Laws of Motion and we got to experiment and see how these work.
Thank you Isaac Newton :)
This looks amazing Room 5 - what a great learning experience. Jackie (Abby's mum)
ReplyDeleteI wish Isaac Newton could come to our class by Aimee L. I would have wanted to be in your class then by Nicholas. That looks really fun because Isaac Newton came to your class by Aimee B
ReplyDeleteIsaac Newton looked great for his age :) What a fun lesson on Physics... well done Mrs McLay for organising Isaac Newton's visit! Griffin's Mum :)
