Week 7 in Room 19

Using a Solo thinking map to help us focus on adjectives and similes to enrich our writing.
Using blocks and a hop scotch mat to help us memorise our homethink spelling patterns

Weighing "real life" parcels on electronic scales to find how much they would cost to send by post.
How much rice measures/weighs the same as your packet of cereal in the morning?
Chanel from the "Breakers" basketball team shared an understanding of "values" with us.
We learnt some basketball skills, like blocking and dribbling with the ball, through games on the court.

Week 10 in Room 19

The week began with us celebrating with six of our class mates who completed in the weetbix triathlon on Sunday at Big Manly beach.
In an art lesson, Miss Nisbet, taught us how to create a mosaic koru. Each fond represents a person in our family. Mr Cowie came in and told us about how to be a good digital citizen.
We finished colouring in the parts of our brains where our senses are understood.

Brain Immersion

Our immersion into the brain took the morning.
We had eight activities/ stations to complete.
"It was fun and interesting". I liked the pig's brain station the best because I got to touch a real pig's brain". (quote from thank-you letter written to Yohanes the butcher who gave us the brain).
We wrote down our wonderings and discoveries.

Learning about Digital citizenship & statistics

This week, we have been learning about digital citizenship with Mr Cowie. There are many doors we can open on the internet. We need to be careful which door we open.
The other photos show us as investigators, gathering data from our class mates to graph information from questions we posed.
